Ball State linebacker Jaylin Thomas has private workouts with dolphins, cowboys, crows and more

Ball State’s all-conference selection, Jaylin Thomas has garnered growing interest as an athletic and ultra-productive inside linebacker. Thomas (6-foot-1, 231 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.66 to 4.74 seconds with a 1.64 spread at his Pro Day campus workout with 19 bench press reps, a vertical jump of 34 1/2 inches, a 10-3 long jump.

Thomas has private practices with the Indianapolis Colts, Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Miami Dolphins, according to a league source. The Texans have expressed interest in Thomas, according to a source.

Thomas has recorded 402 career tackles with 27 1/2 tackles for a loss and five interceptions. He was selected three times in the All-Mid-American Conference.

Sixteen NFL teams attended his Pro Day, including the San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles Chargers, Colts, Washington Commanders, Dolphins, Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, New York Jets, Green Bay Packers, Carolina Panthers, Las Vegas Raiders, Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans.

Thomas recorded 113 tackles, seven for losses and four interceptions last season.

“I have my family on my back, supporting me,” Thomas said on his Pro Day. “It’s a great moment. It shows that all that hard work over the years has paid off. It is a good feeling to be able to represent this university as well as my family.

“It’s a blessing. It’s been a long road in and out of these facilities, but it feels good to be back, to be home, and to represent this university.
