TALLAHASSEE, Florida – Florida State’s No.1 soccer team (11-0) will play two games this week against Syracuse on Thursday, October 7 and against Miami on Sunday, October 10.

Thursday’s game against Syracuse is the Seminoles Paint it Pink game presented by the Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. FSU will be wearing special pink shirts for the match which will be auctioned online after the match. Proceeds from the auction will go to the TMH Walker Breast Center. The auction will begin at 8 a.m. on Thursday, October 7 and close on Friday, October 15 at 9 p.m. ET.

Sunday’s game against Miami is the FSU’s mental health awareness game. The team will have the green to support the cause.

HISTORY OF THE VS SERIES. SYRACUSE

Thursday’s meeting between the Seminoles and Orange marks the 6th ever meeting between the two schools. Florida State holds a 4-0-1 lead in the series with a 1-0 record against Syracuse at home and a 2-01 record on the road and a 1-0 record on a neutral site. The last time the two teams met was in Syracuse during the 2019 season, Florida State won 2-0. Florida State’s only goal came in the 74th minute by Deyna Castellanos, assisted by Yujie Zhao. FSU dominated Syracuse 23-2.

FSU VS. THE CAC

The Seminoles have an ACC all-time record of 137-78-25. Florida State is 115-32-19 in the league under head coach Mark Krikorian as more than three-quarters of FSU’s all-time ACC wins can be attributed to Krikorian at the bar. Under Krikorian, FSU is 68-10-6 against its league opponents at home and 47-22-13 on the road.

FSU has not finished below second place (including ties) in the ACC 12 times (2005-10, 2012-15, 2019-20) in the past 16 years, winning five season titles regular (2009, 2012, 2014, 2018 and 2020).

AWESOME BANDS

Florida State enters the game against Syracuse after winning 10 straight road games, good for the longest road winning streak in program history. The Seminoles also won a program record of 14 consecutive CCA games. FSU has won 21 straight regular season games since 2019.

THE SOFTNESS OF THE HOME

Florida State has been 176-15-9 at home since 2005, when Mark Krikorian became Florida State’s head coach.

The Noles are 108-7-6 in their last 121 home games, dating back to 2011. FSU have 37 wins against ranked opponents in that span.

DOMINANT POSSESSION

In the first 11 games of the season, the Seminoles controlled the ball because they had possession of it for 70% of the season. This translated into a 38-6 goals advantage and a 204-32 shooting advantage.

The Seminoles had the ball for a season-high 81% of the game against FGCU.

In 10 games this season, a high tied program 16 different Seminoles have scored one goal and 17 Noles have scored at least one point.
