Just like vintage cars, there is also a huge market for classic motorcycles. However, it seems that we don’t usually see many of these when it comes to two-wheelers, as most owners tend to customize their aging rides instead. Those looking for an icon to add to their collection are in luck. A 1979 Ducati 900 Super Sport is currently for sale.

Like we said, old-school bikes usually become donors for cool projects. Fortunately, the seller of this 900 SS opted for a complete restoration instead. Managing its sale is Speedart Motorsports in Miami and listing for $50,000. The establishment also notes that it is the “last of the Great Beveled Twins, fully restored and highly collectible”.

Chassis number 089083 looks flawless thanks to the team that handled its refresh. A quick glance at the odometer reads 18,010 miles, which some might consider high. Nevertheless, it shows that the original owner really appreciates this machine. This 1979 Ducati 900 Super Sport features black bodywork with gold details.

This bike is powered by a completely rebuilt 864cc four-stroke L-twin engine. It is mated to a five-speed transmission with a performance of 72 horsepower and 50 lb-ft of torque. The 1979 Ducati 900 Super Sport can also reach a top speed of 135 mph.

Some buyers may want to take this opportunity and keep the bike as their centerpiece. Still, it would be a shame to sideline this 1979 Ducati 900 Super Sport. While vintage examples like this should be preserved, you may miss the one-of-a-kind experience it brings to the table.

Make it yours
