Report: La’el Collins interested in Miami Dolphins, who ‘love’ offensive lineman

The Miami Dolphins are reportedly one of the teams interested in offensive lineman La’el Collins. He is expected to be released by the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday.

Collins spent his entire six-year career with the Cowboys after they signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2015.

His undrafted status is the result of a shocking case that unfolded shortly before the 2015 NFL Draft. Collins’ name was linked to a double homicide in Louisiana. He was eventually cleared of any wrongdoing.

Collins played in 74 NFL games and started 71 of them.

It would make sense for the Dolphins to have an interest in signing Collins, given their focus on improving their offensive line in an effort to protect quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

Last season, Miami’s offensive line allowed 40 sacks, with Tagovailoa being taken down on 20 of them in his 13 games.

NFL free agency has been busy so far. The Dolphins are looking to improve not only their offensive line, but other positions as well. Additionally, many fans expect them to consider draft linemen in the 2022 NFL Draft next month.

In addition to the Dolphins, Collins would be on other teams’ radars. It will be interesting to see where it lands and how competitive its market becomes.

Other teams reportedly interested in Collins include the Cincinnati Bengals. Like the Dolphins, the Bengals are looking to offer as much protection as possible to their young quarterback. They have a rising star in Joe Burrow.
