The Miami Dolphins organization has been filled with young talent in recent years, which seems to have given them one of the brightest futures of any NFL team. With 39-year-old Mike McDaniel at the helm, there’s hope for a fan base that hasn’t seen a playoff win in more than 20 years.
However, McDaniel isn’t the only young mind in the coaching staff or front office worth hyping up. Athleticism recently compiled a list of the top 40 coaches, executives, agents and “other rising stars” under the age of 40. McDaniel being on this list comes as no surprise, considering he’s the most recent coach to receive the ‘awesome boy’ moniker. . The other Miami rep on the roster, Brandon Shore, is a bit of a shocker.
Shore, 36, is entering his 12th season with the Dolphins and currently serves as the team’s senior vice president of football and business administration. With all the deals Miami has made this offseason, its appearance on the roster makes a little more sense.
Here’s what Lindsay Jones of The Athletic had to say about Shore:
“Shore began his career with the Dolphins as a football administrative assistant and quietly rose through the ranks of the human resources and personnel departments over the next 12 years. He was promoted to his current position in 2019. and is the team’s lead contract negotiator.
Shore has received nominations for this list from agents and peers on other teams for his professionalism in negotiations and his acumen in managing the Dolphins salary cap. He played a leading role in the Dolphins’ massive trade and subsequent contract extension for receiver Tyreek Hill earlier this year, while also making major deals to sign left tackle Terron Armstead and extend cornerback starring Xavien Howard.
Miami has a lot going for it this year, and a big part of it has been the work of McDaniel and Shore, with obvious help from general manager Chris Grier. If the Dolphins are to reach their potential, these three will have to keep up the great work.
